What We Do
We strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to others in need. As good stewards of our resources, we work in collaboration with other local non-profit organizations in the St. Louis area. We do not duplicate services. If assistance is well-delivered elsewhere, we guide and support our clients to access these local resources.
When we discover an unmet need, we tap into our ‘network of charity’ to fill the void. For example, we developed a prescription drug program in partnership with Express Scripts to provide uninsured clients with necessary and sometimes life-saving medication.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in St. Louis provides assistance in five key areas:
- Crisis Intervention – Community Services
- Housing – Specialized Services
- Criminal Justice Ministry– Specialized Services
- Transportation Services – Community Services
- Health Services – Community Services
- Our THRIFT stores also provide valuable assistance and help us raise vital funds
